Saving Prufrock

written & directed by Karina Padron

Shooting June 2018

in Miami, FL

Ada, a young Cuban housekeeper from Miami, meets a client who is the living incarnation of T.S. Eliot's J. Alfred Prufrock. She finds purpose and belonging in this friend who allows her to live in the fantastical literary world of her dreams. But, when Ada makes it her mission to rewrite Alfred's ending of despair, she discovers she cannot change Prufrock's fate— so she must change her own.

Mission Statement

Hello,

I was born and raised in Miami, FL. When I was growing up the idea of making movies was restricted to the world of dreaming. My mission as a filmmaker is to open the door to young filmmakers from minority backgrounds who have never been able to break into the arts and give them the opportunity to see themselves in film. Not as a token, or cast because of their race or background, but playing the lead in any and all capacities. I've long loved literature and movies. I am so excited to make this film and I have the best crew I could ask for.
